Despierto for Android

Privacy policy

Last updated: 10 September 2026

Despierto does not collect, store on a server, or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics and no advertising. What you configure stays on your phone, and only on your phone.

Who is responsible

Despierto is developed and published by Xabier Jauregi, an independent developer. For anything to do with this policy, write to x.jauregi96@gmail.com.

Data kept on your device

The app saves your preferences in its own local storage on the phone. That information never leaves the device, is never synced, and is not available to the developer:

  • Your movement settings: mode, interval, randomisation, idle brightness and auto-stop.
  • The result of the compatibility test, so it does not have to run before every session.
  • Your chosen language, if you are not using the system one.
  • Whether you have already seen the introduction.

All of it is deleted when you uninstall the app, or when you clear its data from Android settings.

Data that is not collected

Despierto does not ask for, generate or transmit any of the following:

  • Name, email address, phone number or any other identifying detail.
  • Location, contacts, calendar, photos, files, camera or microphone.
  • Advertising, device or installation identifiers.
  • Usage statistics, crash reports, analytics events or session recordings.

Permissions and system features

The app declares a single permission, and uses a few system features that require none:

  • Vibration: for the vibration movement mode. It is the only permission the app requests.
  • Screen brightness: the app adjusts the brightness of its own window during a session and restores the system value on exit. It does not change your device settings.
  • Battery level: read at the moment it is needed, to warn you and to pause the session below 15%. It is never logged or sent anywhere.
  • System language: read so the app can show itself in Spanish or English.
  • Keeping the screen awake: while a session is running, the app prevents the phone from locking.

The app explicitly blocks camera, microphone, location, storage, photo, video, screen-overlay and write-settings permissions in its manifest, so that no library can add them.

Internet access

Despierto works entirely offline and needs no connection for anything it does. The Android manifest lists the internet permission because it comes with the frameworks the app is built on (React Native and Expo), but the app makes no network requests of its own: there is no server to send anything to, no analytics, no advertising and no remotely loaded content.

Third parties

Distribution and payment are handled by Google Play. When you buy or install the app, Google processes your purchase data under its own privacy policy, which the developer neither controls nor has access to. The developer receives aggregated, anonymous sales reports from Google, which cannot identify an individual buyer.

There is no other third party involved: no analytics SDK, no ad network, no crash-reporting service.

Children

Despierto is not directed at children under 13, and it collects no data from anyone, of any age.

Your rights

The GDPR grants you rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability over your personal data. Because Despierto processes no personal data, there is nothing on our side to hand over or delete: the app’s data is removed by uninstalling it. If you have questions all the same, or want to exercise any right, write to us and we will answer.

Changes to this policy

If the app ever changes what it does with data, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change with it. Any significant change will also be noted in the Google Play listing.
